Women and Employment Survey was conducted by XSIGHTS Research and Consultancy in partnership with TurkishWIN and TED University to raise awareness about topics relating to women and employment in Turkey.
The research has addressed gender-based general myths, common perceptions about gender roles, views on women’s employment, paternity leave, the effects of the COVID-19 and gender-based policy action recommendations. The survey was conducted over the telephone (CATI) with a representative sample of 1000 men and women aged 18+ in Turkey between February 5 and February 22, 2022.
The results of the survey were shared with the public on March 2, 2022, in a hybrid event ( both face -to face and online attendance), hosted by TED University. In the event, Melek Pulatkonak, the founder of TurkisWIN, shared her opening remarks, Çiğdem Penn, the founder of XSIGHTS, presented the results findings and Prof. Dr. Kezban Çelik of TED University Sociology Department, along with Aslı Çoban from UNDP Turkey and Mehmet Üvez, from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) interpreted the research results. The event was finished following a Q&A session with lively participation from representatives of NGOs, members of government institutions/ministiries and representatives of the private sector.
