Susan Morawetz is a seasoned and highly-skilled Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) professional with over 30 years’ experience designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating international programs worldwide. She is an expert in providing MEL capacity building, as well as providing technical, programmatic and managerial leadership in performance evaluations, performance monitoring, strategic planning, project design, knowledge management and learning and adaptive management. Susan spent 16 years at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) where, following passage of the U.S. Government Performance and Results Act in 1993, she supported the integration of results-based performance management, strategic planning and indicator monitoring into USAID programming. Since leaving USAID in 2004, Susan has worked for several international NGOs and MEL management consulting firms, supporting programs funded by a wide array of international donors, including USAID, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation, plus numerous private and corporate foundations. Susan has field experience spanning every continent and has provided MEL and other project support across numerous technical sectors, including education, workforce development, democracy and governance, civil society and NGO strengthening, peace building, conflict resolution, renewable energy, economic growth, agriculture, professional and educational exchanges, water and sanitation, food security and household and community resilience. She holds a Bachelors from Washington University and a Masters from New York University. Susan is a mother of two daughters and lives in northern Virginia.
